The Lie of Success

The Lie of Success
by
Sengbe Ben Yosef

What is success? I know what the world says it is but what do you say? Most of us are programmed little dogs nearly none of our thoughts steam from our own internal thinking. Everything we think is the product of learned behavior. We allow the dictates of the world to inform our views and shape our thinking. We never stop to consider our own minds answers. So we become harden in our hearts and lack compassion.
Let me offer you some proof of what I mean. A man by chance is born into a well to do family and has never had to work for a thing in his life... More than likely he inherit his father’s wealth. This man has done nothing to wart our respect. Yet we fall in line because he has money.  On the other hand there many more men born to chaos and misgivings none of their own making and we see these men as the scum of the earth. Our birth is a thing none control yet men like Donald Trump are treated as successful and seen as people to look up too. When in truth all they did was be born.

But that isn't the true sickness of man to me. What I find truly appalling is when men look upon the misfortunes of other men and say it is the work of God that they suffer. How could you in your right mind think such a thing? So it is God that causes babies to die in war? Because everyone knows how deserving babies are of death. What kind of gods do you believe in? You believe in a God that would make people suffer for some hidden reason known only to him or her? How sick would that god have to be?
We see a man living in a cardboard box and how quick we are to forget we all live under God's grace. Our hearts are quickly filled with contempt for men we don't even know, simply because we have been taught to hate the poor. The funny part of that is many of us are poor so in truth we hate ourselves. We never stop to think what hardships may have leaded that man whom we are judging to be in such a state. For all we know he could have suffered a great lost in his life or been the victim of tragedy.

Funny how we want the compassion of others when we fall down but we are unwilling to do the same for others. How easy it become to forget all of the wonderful people God sent to aid you in your success once you have become successful. This brings me back to my question on true success and what it really means to be successful. Time for me to close out but before I do I have a few more things to say about success and what I feel about the subject.
For me success has little to do with the world and my personal accomplishment. To me a man can't be truly successful if he lives without love and compassion for the suffering of others. That man to me is the greatest failure in life because he has lived without love and care in his life. How can one be seen as successful if his heart is empty? You may own a bigger house and drive the best cars. You may have money and live in so called high places and still be as poor as that man who live in the box by the freeway.

The true measure of success is not what a man has in his pocket but what he has in his heart is the thing that gives him his true worth. We all would be better served in this world if we measured men correctly. If only we would use our own minds to see men as children of God and weigh their success by the content of their character. The world would be a much better place to live. Then we could all enjoy the true fruits of life and success. That was my take on success. Now what's yours?

Dear Mr President Sir

Dear Mr President sir:

I'll be glad to see you go sir... You have been a total let down for the hope of this nation... You wasted the time of the people who trusted and believed in you... Walk away quietly sir you have done nothing worth remembering...  I am sad in my heart when I think of what could have been... I'm just glad I never got the chance to vote for you...

The shame that our ancestors must feel when they see what you have allowed on your watch... If someone were to tell me in my youth that I would live to see a day when there would be a president of this nation that is of African origin, I would not have believed them... But even more sir; if they would have said to me that during that same time my people would be worse off than they had ever been I would have called them a lair...

I would never have believed a Black man could be so gutless... This not about race sir more than it is about fairness... What man of good character could lead a nation where part of it's citizens are openly targeted by racist and racist ideologies and never do a thing to address the issue??? Are you not the president of all people of this nation??? Then why do you not do your duty when part of your nation is under attack???

History may look favorable upon you sir and we both know why... Because those who write the history can paint the story to their liking... I on the other hand sir will remember this time and teach my children and their children of the truth of what really took place... I will tell that our brother and countrymen left us to the wolves and looked away from the truth... Our brother abandoned us even though he had the power to do something meaningful he chose to do nothing...

I know you may never read this sir but if by chance you happen too... I want you to know I have nothing against you; you are my brother and countrymen... I just wanted to let you know about all the hope you have destroyed and of the suffering your people have undergone during this troubled time...  I don't know if you have thought about this but some of the backlash of the last 8 years towards black people has been because you are the president... The blood of the people who have suffered and die because of that fact is on your hands sir...

The Glue Of The Family

   The Glue Of The Family

By

Sengbe Ben Yosef

For more than 400 years there has been a riff in the African family. This riff was caused by European slave traders and Europeans seeking to enrich themselves off the backs of African people. We all know what I'm talking about right? Well if you haven’t missed the last 400 some odd years you know about the African slave trade and the mistreatment of African peoples by greedy racist Europeans. The African slave trade was the cause the worst holocaust known to man. Over 100 million and counting Africans have died in the holocaust. People seem to think the African holocaust ended in 1865 on the bloody battle fields of North America but it still goes on even in this day and time.
The slave trade was one part of the holocaust but what came after that may prove to be even more deadly to the African people. Slavery facilitated the break up of the family and the division of African people on many different levels. Most of those breaks were as a result of the physical torture that left scars on the soul of a people.  Today that history continues right down to the public beating and murders of slaves to keep the other slaves in line. People want to see the world as changed but the African knows better. We don’t have the luxury of pretending racism is over and done. We know it’s far from over.

I could go on making point by point statements to support my views of the subject but what would be the point? What could I say that hasn’t been said before? What good would it do me when so many others have tried and failed? If the world wouldn’t listen to a prince of peace like Martin Luther King Jr. what chance would my crude words have of reaching them? So I will not waste time on that instead I will make a few points on what I feel we are doing to ourselves in this war that is being waged against us. I will attempt to make some points I hope will help my people in this fight for our humanity. We need some real life solutions if we hope to make it through this darkness.
I come from a large family of American Africans. From the time I was born up until a few years ago my family had someone who was the glue of the family. Every African family has this person or has had one such person in the ranks of their family. In the times before the slave trade and colonialism we call these special people by other names such as Chief, Negus, Baba or Igbo. In the African family someone was always the keeper of the Odu or word of God. This person was also the guide for the community and family. My family had that person for many generations our most resent was my granddad.

My grandfather was a strong African man who had wisdom and insight that kept our family moving forward.  Since his passing the glue in my family seems to be weaker and no one seems to want to take up the role or assume responsibility for the family’s well-being.  Every nation or family needs a leader someone who can galvanize the people and bring them together the rough times. This is missing in my family and has been missing in my race for some time. Who will come forward to take the helm? Who will give wisdom to the people and lead them with the Odu (word of God)? If we are to move forward as a people we need our teachers and Chiefs to come out from hiding and lead the people.

Will you come out now you good men and women who are the keepers of the Odu (word of God)? Will you lead us now and show us the way? We are lost on this path and we don’t know which way to turn. Our so called leaders today are not true to the Odu (word of God) and they cause many to stumble. With their lies these leaders endanger the masses and cause the children to die. They are not fit for their roles and they do the will of their earthly masters. They help to conceal truth and they lay with the enemies of our people. Oh God I beg you give courage to your children those whom you have chosen to lead the people. Help them to shake off their fears and trouble them less that may free their minds to serve the family community and your will.

The glue is missing in our families and in the nation. Is there no one who will come forward? Every house must have glue or the nations bonds will become weak and the people will be doomed. I have said this at this time because God has put it on my heart this way and it is no accident that it happened now because the healing season is upon us. A season and time for new life a time for family and nation to rebuild their bonds.
Let us come together in this season not to find one person to be the glue but let us all become the substance that bonds the family and the nation. Will you accept my challenge to you? Will you be the tie that binds us in this struggle? Shake off your fears and your worries that you are not enough because I know you are just what the family needs. You are glue and we won’t make it without you.

The story of a Hip Hop purist
By
Sengbe Ben Yosef

A while back I was scrolling down my timeline on a popular site I use to network with people  who are into music and other things. I came across an MC that was throwback to the glory years of Hip Hop. Even though the MC has a classic style, trust me when I say: he’s no copycat. The way he went in on the track reminded me of the good old days. His machine like flow was mechanical in nature but it still had tones of rhythm. The ultra-unique way he flows bounces you around and for some reason I wanted go into my B-Boy dance.
The artist name is Rabu aka “Rabu Wit a U”. I also like to call Mr. Throw Your U’s Up because that's his theme when he performs live at a gig. After listen to Rabu over the next year or so I decided it was time to make him the subject of one of my blogs. I asked if I could interview him for my blog and he agreed. Sit back buckle up and get ready to throw your U's up.

In these days and times in Hip Hop we need to take care of the MC’s who hold the roots of the music down. Come let me show you why Hip Hop is not dead and thanks to purist like Rabu it isn’t going anywhere soon. I hope by telling the story of MC’s like Rabu I can get people to support these MC’s to make sure that our culture is passed on properly to young people coming up in this new world of hip hop.

I caught up with Mr. Incredible (Rabu Wit a U) and asked him about his music and this is what he had to say. First I ask how got his start in Hip Hop. Rabu started in hip hop at age 15 and by age 16 he started taking music seriously. Rabu has been making music for nearly 20 years. He says he enjoys it and will always be a part of it in some way or another.
At age 17 all Rabu wanted to do was be in the booth rapping and making new tracks. He is influenced like most us in hip hop by the MC’s that pioneered rap and the culture of hip hop. In addition to rap Rabu is classic B-Boy he likes to draw graffiti art. I have seen some of his artwork it's nice; really creative work. What B-Boy would be complete if he didn’t like to fight or have mad boxing skills? On a side note Rabu says he’s nice with the hands and the rhymes.

Rabu said that the first person to really give him advice on music was a good friend of his. You may remember him from our October blog; the artist Trazsh Man. Rabu says they have worked to help one another for many years. Mr. U said they work on stage together a lot and they help one another with music as well.
We began talking about live performances and being on stage. Rabu said almost from the start he was on the stage because to him the cypher is the first stage that MC’s have to prove themselves on. Rabu says he would join in on the cypher anywhere there was one happening. In school on the streets in the club it didn't matter to him. Rabu said one of the first times he jumped into the cypher, Rabu was talked into it by a girl who said he couldn’t rap. This next part is a little spooky because Radu said he started spitting barz and it was like the girl disappeared into thin air.

I asked what, did he think about before he went on stage or into the cypher. He said: he gets nervous at the outset but then he as he sees the crowd enjoying the music he gets more into it and let the experience take over. Rabu says: he’s always nervous before he starts but it gives him a chance to prove himself so that what chases all fear away when he is on stage or in the cypher.
When it comes to music in general Rabu said he likes to listen to all the old school legends like Luther, Teddy P, the Jackson's and many more. Rabu says today music is lacking in many ways but he still listens to artist that makes sense in their music. He says a lot of the music today doesn’t make sense so his listening scope is narrow. He said he’s a little ticked off at how thing are but it is what it is and all he can do is make the best music he can make.

So we moved on to talk about Rabu’s music and what it’s all about. He said his music is all about fun and keeping his sound true to himself and the hip hop culture. He thinks it’s important to keep the legacy of hip hop alive for the youth. He says his music is different from the mainstream because it comes from his inner being and a place that is real inside him. Rabu say: he feels a lot of artists are not being true to themselves and it hurting the art and the music.
I asked Rabu about a track of his that I really love called Unstable. I wanted to know why he made the track and what inspired him to do a song like that. Rabu lives in that cypher mind state and as we know sometimes in the cypher it ain’t about barz it’s about destroying the competition. Rabu say the song is a dis song and in it he is going after somebody's neck. The way he is pursuing them is reckless and that make him like a wild man, hence the name Unstable.

I closed out by asking about life outside of music and how it was for an independent artist. Rabu said outside of music he is a husband to a lovely woman with whom he has two beautiful kids. Rabu still holds down a regular job I would call it a nine to five but he said it the graveyard shift. He said he doesn’t mind working a job because he loves music and the job won’t stop him from trying hard for his family and fans.
Rabu say it’s hard being an independent artist but that’s fine with him because he doesn’t have to depend on anyone to get things done. He said it’s on me and that’s cool. Rabu wants his family friends and fans to know he really loves the way they been showing him love. He wants them to know his music comes from his heart and as long as he has air he is going to rep hip hop in the purist form. For Rabu it’s about purity in hip hop and having something meaningful to say to the people. Rabu says his fans can look forward to hearing and seeing a lot more from him in 2016. He is looking to do more of everything in the coming year.

If you like hip hop and you love pure flow then I suggest you check out this young man out of south Jersey because he is keeping the culture alive one bar at a time. I love this cat because he has flow but I love him for much more than that. I dig this soldier because he understands how important it is to support the culture of hip hop and the music. He also understands why we all need to start remembering our roots. Please support “Rabu Wit A U” because good work should be rewarded. Throw your U's Up!!!

Do You Really Want Change

Many people say they want a change in the world but the truth is many of us only want to be included... Here's what I mean; People are all quick to get upset and talk a lot of revolutionary things but when they sum up what they're really saying it seems they are only mad because they are not included more in this oppressive social structure...
Most people don't care two shits what happens to the world as long as it isn’t happening to them... So you want revolution for real right??? But every day of your life is spent thinking how we can get some more of this shit... So I don't think revolution is what you really want... You love being the slave as long as your masters hide the truth of how they really feel from you...
Really; lol: You're going change the world and still want to shop at Safeway Wal-Mart and Food Lion for you meals??? Revolution may be as simple as learning to grow your own food and open your own grocery store but I figure not many are ready to do that... Yet come black Friday you run to give your masters all you have for one silly ass day that has nothing to do with the truth of God... This is the reason I say we don't really want change from our present condition...
If you really had a mind for change you would be finding ways to feed and clothe the nation... You would do less marching and begging and more school building... If you were true to what you say they couldn't buy you off with dreams of better jobs bigger houses and cars... Which by the way are only better slave traps...
My friends you don't want freedom; you just want to be free to be a better slave... You love your oppressors... You love the way they look the way they dress they talk and really you're a woman who loves an abusive man... You love to have your ass beat... Some will read this and be mad but I don't care because I got God and my ancestors... They will keep me company...

Taking Out the Trash/ MC'in Returns to Hip Hop

Taking Out the Trash
MC’ in Returns to Hip Hop
By
Sengbe Ben Yosef

Now days there is a lot trash in Hip Hop so it’s only fitting that we talk about the Trazsh Man. Your neighborhood has a trash man and now so does Hip Hop. Trazsh Man is without a doubt one of the hottest underground rap artist coming out of Camden New Jersey. The first time I heard Trazsh Man I was on a popular social site. A good friend of mine suggested that I give Trazsh Man a try. I was not sure if I wanted to listen because all too often people tell you to listen to someone and they turn out to be some trash. Well little did I know I was right but I was wrong at the same time. The MC was Trazsh but not the trash I was thinking.

After I hit the link for the music video by Trazsh Man; I must say I like what I heard. The track Title “Calm Down”. The music and the video are both dope, if you haven’t tried Trazsh Man I recommend you start with “Calm Down”. Over the next year I kept my eyes and ears on Trazsh Man and I decided to make him the topic of one of my blog post. I caught up with Trazsh on that same social site and asked if I could do a story on him for my blog and he said yes.

I started by asking Trazsh how he got started in music. He said: when he was around 10 he wrote poetry and love to draw pictures.  He also said he played trumpet back then and was pretty good. I then asked about his musical influences. Trazsh Man indicated he loved all kinds of music growing up. He went so far as to say, he even like to hear music being played on forks and plates. This brother is so down.

I asked if he had any family members that had ever been into music. He told me his dad played bass for a group before he passed away back in 2004. I started to see Trazsh and I had somethings in common. My own dad passed away and he played in a band as well. Trash told me his dad was the truth on bass a real boss. It appears that Trazsh Man has always been around music.

Next I asked him when did he know he wanted to do Rap. He replied: I knew I wanted to Rap ever since the 8th grade. I asked, who taught you to make music. He replied, “no one really taught me.”  He said he was there, and music was everywhere so he just did it. I asked Trazsh about any fond memories he had as a young man growing up listening to music. His response was something you don’t hear from a lot of rappers. He said the music Michael Jackson was making in the 80’s gave him a lot joy and inspiration. Trazsh said, he admired the way M.J. was an innovator who wasn’t afraid to think outside the box.

Next we moved on to what drew me to Trazsh Man in the first place. His dope sound and unique rap style is what made me listen to Trazsh Man and I wanted to share more of his work with others. I asked him about a track of his called “Calm Down”.. When I heard the track; it was refreshing to hear a rapper talking about something other than sex drugs and money. I asked him to tell me why he wrote “Calm Down”. He said, he had a lot things going on in his life at that time and he could hear a voice saying to him calm down.

He said the things he was facing could have landed him back in jail and he didn’t want that so he wrote the song to speak on those issues. He said, “He also wanted to write something that would resonate with people in his same predicament.”  I followed up with this statement and asked him, what does it take write a song like that? He said: To make a song like that to me, it takes being honest with yourself. Not being afraid to show your flaws in life. Be truthful. It takes thinking about the next man who might be dealing with the same thing. It's about being selfless.

I Said to Trazsh Man: What’s your music all about? He came back with this: My music is all about life. My music is about lifestyle. My music is about waking up from the nightmare. My music is about having victories and defeats.  I then I asked him, “What gets him going musically, and Trazsh said: What gets me going musically is the mood. What's going on around me and inside me.

I asked him why his music is so different. He replied: My music is different because I don't limit myself to one subject or style. It's different because it's the truth. The truth is what has been imprisoned in music. It's awaiting a death sentence over and over but in the end it will live. I said to him why do you express yourself in Rap the way you do and he says: I chose to Rap this way because it's who I am. It’s one side of me; one of my personalities and there is at least three other artists inside me. There's LOCK and there's Birdy Flaws just to name two.

He is out there for sure but in a good way. I want to know more but I pushed a head. I asked if he listened to any artist in his genre. We had already talked about other music he listened too. He said: I listen to oldies like Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind and Fires some Gospel Music and sometimes he said I listen to nature soundtracks. But I wanted to know who he listened to his genre. He said: in my genre I would have to say, I listen to Ock Milly, Dell P. out of Philly, Jay Royal out of B-more, Rabu with a U and another rapper from Camden and some guy named TRAZSH MAN.

Trazsh Man went on talking more about the artist in his genre he likes and here’s some of what he had to say. I like Ock because he has soul and integrity, I like Dell P because he has integrity that Philly sound and dope lyrics, and I like Jay Royal because he is just dope; Trazsh Man was shaking him head as he said his words. Then he said: I dig Rabu with a U because he believes he is the greatest emcee that ever lived. Rabu has character and he is one of the very few that can really freestyle off top. I like TRAZSH MAN because he doesn't know how to surf nor does he want to learn how. There are a couple other artists I dig but maybe in the future we can talk about that.

I have heard that not only is Trazsh Man a dope MC, but he has one hell of a stage presence as well. So I asked him and he had this to say about the first time he took the stage as Trazsh Man. He told me: The first time I took the stage was at a Lyrically Fit show 2 years ago by given Jay Grady. I asked if he liked performing. He said: I enjoy performing, but I need to get fit.because I have a lot of expression in my songs that requires me to be active on stage, so I need my health and strength. I asked if he had any shows that were memorable. Trazsh said: He did a show for the SCHOOL OF ROCK and it was epic. It was a mixed crowd and everyone was into it. Little kids were singing the songs. It was crazy!

Next I asked if he had ever had any troubles on stage and how did he handle it.  He said what every pro should say. “I handle mistakes in a show by just keeping it going”. I’m so excited on stage I forget lines. Shaking his head he says: I just keep rapping, it is what it is I guess? I'm just glad people appreciate my efforts. I said: Is it your nerves that get in the way. Trazsh says:  I always get nervous before performing. I don't know why maybe it’s because I never know what to expect. I just try to buckle down and zone out before I go on stage. Once I'm doing a song, I just give up what I have in me and do the best I can. Then he says:  If you’re nervous before your show, you'll get over it after the performance lol.”

Trazsh told me that he practice his set for at least a week before a show. He says “It's hard for me because I'm always making new music”. Sometimes I just can't stop making songs. I can't count how many songs I have that aren’t online yet. I have to discipline myself more I guess.  I asked him to explain more about his music making and he said: I'm always making music. I have no balance. It's always going on inside my head. If it's not music it's some kind creative visions.

Trazsh Man is an independent artist and he says it’s hard for artist because everybody is a so called artist these days lol. The standards of this art form has been diminished so much over the years and I'm just happy when I meet people who don't Rap. It's like I might just be able to make a new fan, even then I don't like to say I Rap because I can just imagine how many people have told that person the same thing.

I asked him what he thought about the state of music today and he replied, “ I think the state of music is going through a transforming phase. It's not a bad or good thing. I think when it gets back to the principles of the genre it will be great again. I'm not saying go back to the 90's or 80's, I'm saying if it gets back to having a better meaning, substance, and becomes fun again, we will all be better off. For that to happen we need to reduce the need to glorify drugs and porn in the music. Then community can began to go in the right direction again.

Lastly, I asked Trazsh Man what was the message behind his music. He said, if you want to know the answer to what my message is in my music, go and find my music. The answer to this question is in the music. Then I asked, if he had any words for his fans and he replied, “ I want my fans to know that whatever they hear from me it's from me. It's my soul.

In a world crowded with MC’s and artist it is refreshing to have an artist and MC like Trazsh Man around. Trazsh Man and his music renewed my faith in Hip-Hop. I use to wonder if Hip Hop would be safe because of all the trash in the industry. But now, I don’t worry because MC’in has returned to Hip Hop and the Trazsh Man is here to take out the trash. If you haven’t heard of this wonderful artist please follow the links in this story and support artist like this because we need them like plants need water. At one point I wished I could go back to the glory years of Hip Hop to recapture the feelings I had way back when but, thanks to Trazsh Man I look forward to what coming up next.

How Far Have We Really Come?

How Far Have We Really Come???

When we look at the state of America today one has to ask in the case of so called black people. How far have we really come in this country with regards to race and the equitable treatment of all Americans? Is the so called black American still seen as less of a person or worse; could it be that in this day and age blacks are still view as inferior?

America has a history steeped in the ill treatment of people of color. Blacks in particular have been singled out and have many times had to bear the full brunt of the assault on people of color. America has never shown any real shame for the way it has treated part of its population. For a while America did a great job of fooling the world and tricking the people into believing that it was working to rid itself of its race problem.

Now it seems we have been duped and have had the wool pulled over eyes. The softening of outward bigotry and the covert behind the scenes moves made by the racist and the bigots has been a great success. It has served to put us all to sleep and a result we lost focus. Sure there was the occasional outburst by some out of line small minded bigot who couldn’t see the grand scheme of what was being laid down by the racist powers that be. But we haven’t seen anything like what we are seeing today in many years.

For almost 30 years the racist have kept their true nature under wraps for the most part. Only having as I said the occasional slip up by some meaningless pawn who isn’t fully aware of their grand plan. Meanwhile behind closed doors in the halls of power they were making laws to criminalize the behavior of the suspecting public. With the people in a deep sleep they plotted away making sure to throw us off by placing the blame on the victims of racism.

I know you have heard the phrase “Playing the race card”? What does that mean? If someone is being racist against you shouldn’t you expose them by bringing it to the light? I think not because with that nifty bit of revers racism they have silenced many of us. They have trapped us in a box where speaking about racism makes you the racist. Wait a minute; how did that happen? This is one of the oldest tricks in the dirty playbook; where you force your victim to disarm out of so type of twisted shame.

Now you’re the one feeling bad about responding to something that you should respond too. Whenever you are being attacked by a person who is seeking to do you or your love ones harm you should respond and only a fool would let something like that go unchecked. In my life I have never seen the bully just walk away from his victims. Action is required on the part of the person being bullied to stop the bullies in their tracks.

Now I come to the solution for so called blacks in America. What can we do to get the so called white man’s foot off our backs for good? We have marched held hands sang and screamed to the highest mountains and still we are here trapped. Our ancestors have done everything one can dare to think but still no respect comes our way. What more can be done? There has to be something because who can live like this forever? Our people are shot down like dogs in the streets and where is the justice America claims to have?

America has said to the world over and over again this is a free nation and a fair nation for all but we see that has never been true. No matter how many claims she makes America is still the whore that lies. Knowing this we must now search for new ways and new solutions. We can’t live off the works of our ancestors any longer. We have invoked their names and have laid claim to their sacrifices but the work of our own hands is unrealized. Sons have walked in their father’s footsteps for so long we have forgotten we have our own feet.

With our own feet we must make footsteps that even our father’s thought impossible. Let us take all that we know of our past and of what we are today and forge a new day for our people. Let the fathers of today make footsteps and teach their son to do the same. Let us no long look to our oppressors for approval. We are our own hope for justice and equality and if we must seek someone for help let us call upon our God and our ancestor.

Lastly if we have to say black lives matter then understand you have made yourselves subject to a negotiation where others have the power to say: black lives don’t matter. We have given this country power over us long enough. They will never change who they are and our concern shouldn’t be changing them. Our chief concern should be changing us and reclaiming what is our right. I tell you it is the right of every man to live free of oppression and injustice.

In The Name Of A King

In the name of Martin Luther King Jr... I say to you don't let the same power structure that killed our beloved brother shame his legacy by turning his life story into another reason to buy useless things... So in honor of our brother let us not partake in their unholy-day but let us embrace the principles for which our friend Martin gave his life... Let us boycott their attempts to undermine the truth of Dr King's life and legacy...

W.W.K.D. (What would King Do?) This is the question that we should be on our minds at this time, not how much of a discount can I get? Dr King never sold the people out and we should never sell out on his memory and dream... Do what he would do; let us keep on marching till freedom rings from every hillside and every household...

Bless up Dr King and God we thank you for your servant who was bold and courageous... A man who showed us the way in our time of darkness... God you gave us the light in the form of Martin Luther King Jr... We thank you God and we pray that the dream of peace you gave our beloved brother is fulfilled,,,

Most holy and high God we pray that we will find the same courage that you gave our brother so that we may have light in this darkness as well... Oh God we thank you in the name of all that righteous and holy and in the name of all that you deem worthy and good... Also God we thank you for all the good people you have sent along the way and we know it would not have been if not for you God...

Bless up!!! Sengbe Ben Yosef...  May peace be upon you until peace comes to us all... #Truth #Justice and #Equality
